Tirana International Airport is a “groundscraper” rising from 8m airside to 16m landside, well anchored to its surrounding landscape in terms of its scale and materials used. Crafted in modern industrial materials, there is no endless repetition of elements for every side of the building which responds to a function. The incorporation of many public amenities internally and externally such as the arrivals piazza, generous curbside, and water features make TIA a truly public building.
