THE WEAVE

The weave is a façade study on a soon-to-be constructed building. It serves as a screen wall along an insulated corridor at 3-sides of the building.
The weave is also a result of various environmental considerations and also to satisfy the particular criteria of the building. It is actually a simple geometric model that allows us to divide the façade into longitudinal strips. These strips are then manipulated in their angles so as to achieve different gradients of densities/light penetration. The need for this arises from a basic observation of the behavior of the sun. As the sun rises from the horizon to a higher angle of attack, the sun will proportionately increase in its intensity (i.e. mid-day) due to the varying thickness of the atmosphere in which the suns rays has to traverse.
