FELCRA, a Malaysian Government owned company, has an objective to develop rural sector in palm oil and paddy plantation. The office tower depicts the stem of the oil palm leaf. Punctuating this image is the ‘germinating seedling’ of the palm fruit containing the main lobby to serve a 1,000 seater Conference Hall. Above this ‘seedling’, the sinuous stem spreads out its ‘leaf’ to wrap itself around the core of the glazed tower, and crowns itself at the peak to a point containing the communications antenna. The FELCRA Tower is targeted to achieve Platinum Green Building Index [GBI] of Malaysia, qualifying it to be a world class green building.
