By extending the ground plane of the public park onto its roof, the building blurs the boundary between private and public realms. Sweeping up from the ground, the over-sailing planted roof of this office building becomes an extension of the park where the building sits. Tapered breeze atriums punctuate the elongated building, funneling fresh air from the lake towards the town. Photovoltaics over the atriums harness solar energy. The atriums serve as public passage-ways encouraging pedestrians to walk to the banks of the lake beyond. The building thus forms a permeable edge linking the town to the lakeside.
